I had a yucky smell in a bathroom that wasn't used for showering very much. I was told that a smell develops when the shower isn't used and to run the water as if taking a shower. The pipes need the moisture. It did help in my case. Good luck. By the way, I have a septic system.

Try lava rocks, you can buy them in a bag at Home Depot. In houseware section.

  • Wash everthing down with vinegar, then rinse. Vinegar kills the mold spores, bleach does not.

Distilled White Vinegar. If you can pinpoint the origin of the smells, apply some vinegar directly to the offending item(s). A spray bottle might be the best way to apply. If it's an odor that can't be pinpointed for origin simply put some white vinegar in a small bowl, dish or jar lid in an inconspicuous spot out of the way where it won't be spilled. The deodorizing power of white vinegar is pretty amazing.
