Hair spray is water soluble. You just need to be mindful of how much water you can put on your floor. You may have to take it up in layers. Any good soap or detergent will be helpful.Helpful Reply -

One cup of lemon scented ammonia to one gallon hot water. I use it to remove wax and built up grime on my vinyl tile floor once a month.Helpful Reply -

Rubbing alcohol works on my tile floors and I don't think it would hurt linoleum floors. I guess you could test it in an inconspicuous spot first. Put it on and mop it around and let it sit for 20 min to break the hairspray down. Mop up then rinse.Helpful Reply -

I'd use a good sponge, warm water with vinegar. Rinse & repeat if needed. Best of luck.Helpful Reply -

Will give some of these a try. I also had tried baking soda and vinegar and with alot of effort it seemed to work, but I was careful not to leave it on ,and think if I left it longer it might be good, but feared it would damage the linoleum if left too long.Helpful Reply -
