Hi Darlene, best solution would be to rent a power washer.

Krud Kutter and Power Wash. Cedar is a soft wood so make sure you use low pressure. Once it is clean, Wet & Forget Outdoor is a good product to inhibit the growth and collection.

Powerwash with deck cleaner. Many of the formulations are landscape friendly.

We rent a power washer every year to do this and the fence too. They can be purchased from Home Depot quite inexpensively as well.

Hi Darlene, hope this helps you. Using a vinegar solution in a spray bottle, spritzing the mold, and then letting the vinegar soak for an hour will also help kill the mold and its spores to prevent further spread. After that, wipe the deck area using a rag or clean, damp towel. Lastly, air-dry the deck to ensure any mold growth won't occur.

Spray with Wet and Leave! In time it will disappear.
