You might need to reseal it- To determine whether your deck needs to be sealed and stained, sprinkle a few drops of water on the wood. If the water beads up, you don’t need to treat it yet, but if not, it needs to be cleaned, stained and sealed. Do this test once every six months.

In this time of the yr is a tough time to paint. Leaves are always falling, then fall will be arriving soon. I would use a small nail in the end of the roof, and then hang it loosely to give this air vented area. Then when the area is dry, all the way dry, you can remove it. This is one area, where you may want to leave a protector in this area, so the leaves and debris will not keep coming in. We use a tarp up on that end, and just open the bottom, for vents. All in our case works great. Good luck, J.

    Use a Stain Blocker first!

  • Try dish soap in hot water. Scrub with a soft scrub brush.

A good deck cleaner and a scrub brush should do the trick!
