Hello there,
Make it into a paste, then spread on using a soft cloth or sponge. once clean, rinse and then dry .
I use a mixture of Dawn and vinegar 50/50, spray it on, let it work, and scrub any tough stains with a plastic scrubber.
Mix the vinegar & blue Dawn 50/50 and heat in microwave. Spray on tub and let sit. Add baking soda for any areas that are extra dirty and need a bit of an abrasive. Then you can scrub away the dirt.
I agree mix it all together so you have a pretty thick paste and then cover your tub / area you plan on cleaning with it. With my (very old and very stained) cast enamel sink I left the paste on there 24 hours before scrubbing.
I use a paste of baking soda and water, make it thick and apply to the tub surface, let it hang out there for as long as you like or need, usually I let it set for 8 hours or overnight.
Next day scrub off with a sponge or a microfiber cloth.
To make a nice shiny tub between treatments, I have a 32oz bottle of this mixture:
5-6 oz Blue dawn dishsoap
fill the remainder of the bottle with white vinegar
Put the cap on and give it a mix. Cut slits in to cap or poke holes. Then squeeze all over your tub and let set 15-20 min. Take a Dollar store broom and sweep the mixture all over the tub. Rinse well, it will be slippery if you leave any behind. Keep the broom for cleaning the tub as a dedicated broom, otherwise you'll get scratches in it.
