Lucky you! I would think about what I'm working on and how much space is needed. If you do re purposing of furniture there will be more area needed for that. Have tables or furniture that can be easily moved and lots of light.
Iām going to suggest storage on the back wall...shelving etc. sky light or solar tube to ad natural light. Windows up higher and narrower. Think about electrics outlets...most are closer to the floor...if you work on tables or desks you may want them higher. Get clear storage bins you can label the ends, but you can see the contents. Keep like supplies with like projects. My beading projects are in an older dresser, yarns on the shelves. Get a tool box that you can lock. Hammers, screw drivers, wrenches can walk out the door easily. Have you insurance person out and make sure this room is insured. Heat and cooling? you have considered them?

I wonder what crafts you will work on in the space? Sewing has different requirements and supply storage from paper craft and painting or stamping. Thanks
If you have a container store near you run dont walk. Take pictures with you. Staff are always willing to help. If not check them online. Sometimes a bit pricey but it is an investment. I used their stackable drawers that come in a variety of interlocking sizes
Maybe enlist the help of a professional organizer as a consultant to tailor a plan to your needs. Watch a lot of YouTube videos and pick the things you like, and then where to put them into your studio.... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+design+your+dream+craft+studio
Awesome thank you!
When you go to make your cutting table for fabric crafts, Iād suggest repurposeing a set of base cabinets and a thicker plywood piece for the top. Put wheels on it. Cover the top with cutting matts. Quilt making occasionally needs a bit of hand stitching -stash a comfy chair in your studio. I have a love seat in mine. Do make a topper for your ironing board...twice as wide as the top of original And rectangular. You can use a pice of cotton matress pad on top of the board, then cover with fabric that ironing boards are covered with. Yes, itās available. Makes it much easier to press the seams Open on the quilt tops and keeps them square. The long arm quilters are cool. My cousin has an older model that uses pantographs.
Fabric storage... pants hanger..the wooden ones. Keeps creases out of the fabric. Keep similar Colors together as you hang them. Donāt be afraid to pre wash the fabrics ...depending on cotten content some may shrink. Better they shrink befor being in a quilt.
Why do you only have "one chance"? Everything evolves over time. What is the use you will put this space to? How do you like to do the work that this space is intended for? Will you need work benches? Tables? platforms? kilns? sewing equipment? We can't help with organizing advice without much more information.
O.K. I should have read other answers first. As a quilter you will need to have a floor that can be easily cleaned. You will need a large work table. (mine is 4' X 8' and is adequate. . . you may need a larger table or longer anyway) I made a 36" X 48" ironing board for my table, that can be hung or placed out of the way when not needed. This is great for ironing large pieces. Good luck! Post pictures w hen it is done.
I will. Thanks again
