A pretty chalkboard sign, made with my favorite trick for lettering, is a lovely way to decorate for Valentine's Day. Lots more Valentine's Day easy DIYs right here. Here is what you need to make this chalkboard wood sign:
  • Bare Wood Pallet Sign
  • Black chalkboard paint and brush
  • White chalk
  • Chalk marker (optional)
  • Words printed on regular paper
  • Tape
  • Pencil
  • Pink Card Stock
  • Glue
Paint the pallet sign with chalkboard paint and let dry completely. Meanwhile, print out the words you want on the sign using regular paper and your home printer.

Position the words where you want them on your wood sign, then flip the paper over and color the back with white chalk. Put the words back in place, chalk side down, and tape to secure. Use a pencil to trace over the words. When you pull off the paper there will be chalk lines where you traced! The BEST way to letter a chalkboard.I made a Christmas centerpiece using this method too, check it out.
Use chalk or a chalk marker to color in the words. That's all it takes to make a beautiful chalkboard sign! No need for special hand lettering skills.
Cut a couple of pink hearts and fold them in half. Glue them together to create a 3D heart to embellish this Valentine's Day sign.
A lovely way to decorate for the holiday.

I love the saying, home is where the heart is. What would your sign say?
