Need a fun and easy kids craft? Try these cute little turkeys made from felt and cork, all stuck together with a little Xyron magic!!! Best part is they are magnets!!
Start with a few collected cork stoppers from some bottles of wine. A hard job to drink the wine, but I did my job well, hehe.
I cut the cork into sections of 3, so they are about 1 - 1.5 inches in depth. So easy cork gives 3 sections. I also used real cork and the faux plastic cork, they both work amazing!
I used various color of crafting felt (the normal felt you buy at the craft stores) in greens, browns, and one orange. I like the idea of keeping it in the autumn color range. I cut them into long triangles for the feathers, and small little ones in the orange for the beak. I also gather google eyes, and then used my sticker maker to turn everything into a sticker (you can also used craft glue).
I added the long triangle "feathers" to the back of the cork section, 5 feather per turkey and then placed a magnet of the back. You could leave the magnet off and they are a cute little trinket for the kids or as a place setting at a family gathering like Thanksgiving.
Add in the eyes and the beak in orange and you have some super cute little turkeys!
Here is a video on how to make these fun turkeys.
My 5 year old daughter and her friend made these, and had a blast doing it!! Gobble gobble!!
