here are a few ideas
Hi Deb: Pinterest.Com has a bunch of ideas. Also, instead of cutting the top of my pumpkins off, I cut the bottoms off. That way, the candle sits right on a dish or the porch and won't fall over. You can even cut the bottom to make the pumpkin look up, down or sideways:) You don't need to keep the bottom part, just put it aside, with the seeds, for the squirrels:) Good luck!

Spray painting with stencils is a quick way to achieve maximum effect.
Wrapping pumpkins black netting or tulle fabric and ribbons is a easy and fast alternative to messy carving.
