Stuffed Paper Hearts

Another fun upcycle project. Make something festive and fun with paper lunch sacks! These are great for Valentine's Day.
Create these stuffed paper hearts with paper lunch sacks, stamps, and thread. Even upcycle those plastic grocery bags to use as stuffing!
Trim off the bottom of the lunch bag.

Unfold sides of bags to create a large square.
Create a heart template out of scrap cardstock.

Trace the template all over one side of the paper bag.

Use decorative stamps to decorate the paper.
Place a mousepad under the paper bag and punch holes around the edge with a paper piercer.

Cut out the hearts (remember there are a blank sheet behind the decorated sheet. cut it with the front heart and it will become the back of the heart.)

Use needle and thread to begin stitching the hearts together (front and back pieces).

When you've made your way almost all the way around the heart, stop and stuff the heart with a grocery bag - cut up the grocery bag if needed.

Finish stitching the heart and tie off in a knot.
These are so fun! They have a vintage look to them. I used them as garland on my mantel.

Where did you get the stamps? I can only find sheet stamps and I don’t know how to use them.

These are lovely and give me a reason to swipe my granddaughters for a couple of weekends. I gave them stamps for Christmas that will work for this quite well. Win-win!

Thanks for sharing. I wish my mind worked like this :(
