How can I Disguise a dog crate in a cute way?

I live in a small mobile home and am looking for a cute, inexpensive way to disguise an 4" ugly wire dog crate. My home is decorated in nautical style. Any new and clever ideas?

OOPS! It's a 24" crate.
Maybe you could paint it to look like a map, Also, you could chalk paint it.
Buy nautical fabric and sew a fitted cover to go over it, all but the door where the dog goes in and set it so the door is facing sideways and the pretty side to the room. Maybe use pallet boards and build a three sided cover larger than the crate to set over and paint it to match your decor. They could have spaces between boards or not, depending on what you prefer.
be careful of using any paint or wood that will be very dangerous to your dog.I just use a throw blanket,
I would get a piece of wood this size of the crate with slight overhang of 1/2"all around and either sand it and stain the wood or paint it white. Lay in on top of crate and use as a table.

If it were mine, I would add some details that might make it look like a lobster trap. I am sure there are really great ideas on Pinterest. Putting a top on it seems very popular to use it as a table.
