How do i make a bed for my dog... he's a Great Dane!!!Beds for a dog his size, are extremely expensive and he needs to be on a cushion because GD are pron to hip problems, because of their weight. Any ideas?
I have a few wooden planters and enjoy using salvaged wood such as pallets or logs in my décor. I was recently made aware that I am inviting termites into my home. I... See more
I made one out of a cardboard box but he likes to chew on it. I'd appreciate any suggestions as he has way to many toys but loves them all! Thanks in advance!
I want to make a large dog bed to put on top of my king size bed beside me.
Maybe search out an old crib mattress and start with that? You could get an old crib, trim it down and put short legs on it (if he needs it elevated), that way, all you need to do is find crib mattress covers (and the plastic protectors to deter bugs moving in) . Laying some lavender sprigs underneath will give doggie nice dreams and keep the bed smelling good :)
WOW! that is an awesome idea. and amazingly, i do have an old crib that's been in my attic for years; i might even have the mattress too, if not, i'll go to a thrift (second hand) store to find one.
thank you "Y"!!!
Not too shocking for me as i too have 2 GD inside my house, they have their own room
. i will need 2 cribs - so again, i'll go to a thrift store to find the other one i'll need.
I made a dog bed for my old girl out of a crib mattress. The mattress is plastic, so I just swap out the 2.50 Walmart fleece blanket, wipe it down and no more smelly dog bed.
yes, seems like the crib mattress is the best idea.
i brought down the old crib and stared at it to see how i should make it work. but each having their own crib mattress is the way to go.
thank you all.
