How to make portable dog ramp

    2 ft wide piece of plywood , cleats...strips of board for traction at 1 ft intervals or carpet the board. If you need to you can make a foldable one with piano hinges.

    I saw a really cool lightweight ramp made with those white coated wire closet shelves with sides. Wish I could find it !!

    Check your local library for books on this subject. A carpentry book, or how to do book, is your best choice.

    I don't know how big your dog is, but I use a white shelf with nonskid shelf liners, folded about 6 inches under the shelf on each end and stapled. I tack screen molding every 3"-4" (depending on dog's stride) across the short way for dog traction going up or down. Then if I need to fold the ramp for it to get in or out of a smaller space (like the car trunk), I build 2 smaller versions of the ramp with hinges connecting them at the middle. Very inexpensive and look quite nice.
