Rustic Cedar Snowflake Sign

I use a lot of snowmen in my Christmas decor, so snowflakes obviously fit right in. To compliment the snowman theme, I decided to use scrap wood, paint, and vinyl to make a Rustic Wooden Snowflake Sign.
When we installed the cedar closet in our basement, we had a pile of scrap pieces left over that we did not want to throw away. I used 4 planks and put them together using the tongue and groove. I then took 2 shorter planks and glued it to the back of the sign vertically for stability and clamped it until the glue had dried. Next I painted the sign with a coat of Rust-Oleum Gold Metallic spray paint.
I used vinyl for a stencil for the snowflakes. I used my Cricut cutting machine Design Software to find a snowflake pattern and make a few in varying sizes.
After cutting and weeding the snowflakes, I used Transfer Tape to apply them to the sign in a random pattern.
I sprayed a couple of thin coats of Rust-Oleum Ocean Mist over the entire sign and let dry for an entire day because I did not want to take the chance of messing up the paint when pulling off the vinyl stencils.
I carefully removed the vinyl snowflake stencils with the help of my Cricut tools, then lightly sanded the entire surface to give it a little bit of a distressed look.
It is the perfect addition to my snowman themed mantle!
