Placing curtain rod brackets on metal french doors?

How do I tell where the wood is in metal French Doors,I want to hang curtains,or blinds.I have used a stud finder,but it doesn't work correctly on metal doors,is there a diagram that shows where the wood is in the doors?Or any suggestions?

I went to one of the big box home hardware stores where they sell magnet curtain rods and use them to hang curtains on my metal front door and sidelite.
I tried the magnetic rods, they don't mix well with dogs and cats. You can use anchors, they make some exclusively for metal doors. You will need to drill the door, so if you rent, this is out. If you don't have your hearts set on curtains or blinds and are just looking for privacy, perhaps a window film would suit your needs. I used a fabric that I liked and laundry starch to adhere it. When it needs to be washed (dogs and cats) it comes off easily with water, launder and back it goes.
