I have a great DIY project that can be done within few hours and can keep your little one occupied for some time. Just make them a felt christmas tree that they can decorate themselves. It will give them a sense of independence and surely they will be proud to have their own decorated tree. It’s super easy and fun to make one evening. I also absolutely love the fact that it’s a mess free activity.

Watch a video tutorial and 10 tips hot to toddler proof your Christmas tree here

Cut the tree. Fold green felt fabric in half and cut out the shape of the tree. You can create different shapes of the branches or leave it straight – let your imagination run. Use a handmade stencil for better results.Make a base. You can make the base from brown felt or skip this step

Cut out a variety of different ornaments and decorate them. You can add a string of lights or just leave it with ornaments only. I tried to use a hot glue gun to attach the ribbon straps to ornaments but I’ve hurt myself so many times that I switched to tacky glue, which works perfectly fine and probably is better for this project.

Add presents on the bottom.
