I purchase my wreath forms at Dollar Tree and most of my supplies. Mesh tubing or mesh ribbon, looped around and fastened with chenille (pipe cleaner) ties to cover the form. Then add ornaments, attached the same way, and ribbon with a big bow. You can also add something in the center. I've seen Santa, gnome, and snowman round wooden plaques that can be affixed to the center. Also, a small stuffed reindeer, Santa, snowman, or elf.
I made this one by attaching 2 small wreath forms with floral wire Then attaching ornaments to the frames. I added a bit of mesh ribbon rolled up for the spots that were a bit bare but too small for an ornament.
I will be adding a bow on top since my daughter decided she wants it to Minnie rather than Mickey.
Hometalk has a slew of wreath ideas, updating daily I'm sure. If you try the search bar at the top left, you'll get tons of inspiration in return.
Hi Rose, making projects and items yourself can be addictive. It's great fun and very rewarding to see things you like in stores and then to gather some similar items and actually put the piece together and home for often times less than 1/2 the expense. If you start out with a simple design you'll begin to get the nag of how to do things and nearly any project you decide to do is just one step at a time. You might first begin with a wreath form from DollarTree and add faux garaland and a few ornaments and make it pleasing to your eye. You'll be hooked! Welcome to this fun world of do it yourself!

Is this Christmas wreath going to be displays indoors or outdoors? If the latter, then embellishments will need to be water resistant, and to be anchored down to the wreath frame adequately enough so as to not blow away in the wind.
There are countless styles and themes of Christmas wreaths.

Get a plain wreath if it has greanary that’s better. If not you will need to get green garland to put around the wreath.then get some ball orniments maybe a small Santa think of a theme and get items to follow that then hot glue them to the front the greanary will have to be tied ti the form.
