Silent Night Christmas Mantel
This Christmas mantel decoration is still one of my favorites. It could also work well for a table or shelf.
I created this display to remind myself that Christmas is more than just the crazy busy schedule we keep. It is just as much about the silent night and the message behind the song as it is about the time spent with family and all of the activities we keep.
Gather your supplies:
- A window or glass fronted picture
- Black construction paper
- Scissors
- Double sided tape
- Push pin or nail
- Star ornaments
- White lights
- Framed printables
Measure and cut the black construction paper to fit in between your glass panels. You don't want any light to come through the edges, so it is ok if it overlaps a little.
Use the double sided tape to stick the paper to the back side of your glass.
Use a push pin or nail to poke various sized holes in the black construction paper.
You can make whatever pattern you want. The goal is to make it look like a starry sky.
Hang star ornaments on the front and place a white light string behind the glass. To learn how to make the twisted paper star you can visit my blog post here.
If you are interested in finding out how to get the free printables on either side of the mantel or to see more pictures and tips on this mantel display, check out my Silent Night Christmas Mantel blog pos t.
This simple, yet elegant mantel is a beautiful reminder of Christmas' true meaning.
