DIY Rolling Magazine Crate

I am a BIG magazine reader. The problem is that I don't know where to store them all! I recently put together an incredibly easy to make rolling magazine crate for my magazine stash. I keep the crate by the sofa or roll it to where I want it to be.

I like the look of raw wood, so I kept my crate project incredibly simple -- I didn't even paint the crate. (But a crate could easily be spray painted for this project.) I simply just screwed on some caster wheels.

I screwed the caster wheels on with 1/2-inch wood screws. At first, I screwed the wheels on with a mini screwdriver. I eventually switched to using a screwdriver bit and my drill to speed things up. If you do use a drill, proceed carefully as the wood slats on the bottom of a crate are thin and can split.
I got a craft wood letter from my local craft store and painted it with some glittery acrylic craft paint. I used my hot glue gun to glue the letter to one side of the crate. (It's important to turn the crate so the surface you want to glue the craft letter to is facing up so the glue will secure the letter properly. Otherwise, gravity might work against you.)
This project was so simple and easy. I love my new magazine crate!
The crate has plenty of space in which to store my magazines.
The crate usually sits by my living room sofa. The living room faces both south and east and is a sunny spot to read!
