How can I hang a quilt on the wall going up the stairway?
My husband received a 'quilt of valor' from our local 'quilting sisterhood' . I would like to display it on the wall going up the stairway. Not sure how.

Attach 2-3" wide loops of sturdy fabric (that have had edges reinforced), equally spaced, to top of quilt, such that a metal or wooden rod or this slat can be run through the multiple loops. Secure rod/slat to wall.
If quilt is not very large, you can frame the entire quilt and mount to wall using picture hanging hooks and heavy wire.
Congratulations!! here are 4 ways http://www.right-sides-together.com/four-ways-to-hang-a-quilt/ or hang curtain rod/dowel rod and use curtain hooks that have the clamps on them to hold quilt so you do not have to sew anything onto quilt(change it). here's some they come in any colors sizes, wood, metal https://www.amazon.com/Curtain-Hooks-Stainless-Interior-Diameter/dp/B07BJ46LH2/ref=asc_df_B07BJ46LH2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=254421495293&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14827123322357724495&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030040&hvtargid=pla-437313482385&psc=1 Here is bracket to hold dowel rod https://www.thecurtainrodshop.com/ebro-wall-bracket-for-1-3-8-wooden-curtain-rod-1-3-4-projection?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZHjtuSb4AIVBcpkCh1Ddg96EAkYBSABEgK8R_D_BwE paint the dowel rod & bracket or stain it
My mother does Quilts of Valor I’m sure they would be honored to help you to get it hung just give them a call.
KDS, no your family honor us all by the sacrifices you make to keep us all safe. We know what it’s like to have to worry about a loved one for at max a few days in a policing family but we can never understand what it’s like to go months not knowing. Both my grandfathers fought in WWII and great grandfather in WWI, it’s has such lasting affects.
The best way to a quilt or tapestry is with a heavy duty Iron drapery rod. I personally prefer a French return style rod to a Finial drapery rod, but it's really just a matter of taste. Putting something that heavy on a stock curtain rod will just end up bending the brackets of the rod. You need a heavy gauged steel, designed to support thing like custom drapes and wall hangings. I live in Nashville, and got min from a local company called Iron Rods . I checked on their website and it says they ship all over the country, so I am sure you can just order online and have them shipped to you.
