How can I remove the "water" from artificial arrangements?

Does anyone have advice on how to make artificial flower arrangements? It's the stuff the stems are set in that look like fake water

Fill the vase with acetone,allow to sit for a few days until the acrylic is lose enough
I have some artificial silk flower arrangements that are really quite lovely. The artificial water has turned yellowish. Is there anything that I can to get the yellowish tint out of the fake water? Any suggestions on hoot deal with this would be greatly appreciated!
