Have you tried any of the dollar stores?
If you aren't too picky, try home improvement stores like Home Depot and check out their rope and see if they have something that would be acceptable. You never know what you can find!
How much is costly? Amazon has 20 yds cotton for abt $16; Home Depot has 1/4" x 100 yds nylon for about $13.
Have you tried any on line sources? Amazon seems to have deals - I do not shop on line but people love Amazon.

Hello Rose; What about looking at inexpensive stores, where you live??
Also, This might be helpful for you. What if you placed an ad on Craigs List, or even in your local Newspapers??
Maybe someone where you live knows of an inexpensive source, for the Macramé rope that you are hunting for!!!
