This Reverse Canvas Heart Wall Art uses a really popular concept on the Internet: the reverse canvas. You take a stretched canvas that you can buy at any hobby or craft store and pull off the canvas to reveal the wooden frame underneath. That way, you have both a canvas and a frame but you only paid for one. That's a really easy way to turn this into a frugal project.

There are a couple more steps involved to paint it and put it back together. But, when you're done, you have a really frugal and really customized piece of artwork.

Gather your supplies. You'll need a stretched canvas, scissors, paint, a paint brush, a pencil, and a couple pieces of scrap paper.

Carefully pull the canvas off from the wooden frame. It's okay if you rip it a little bit, just don't rip your skin.aw

Draw whatever design you want on the canvas and paint it. In this case, we drew a heart but you can do whatever you like.

Paint the frame while the canvas is drying. You can paint it with regular paint or use wood stain if you have some. Let it dry and let the canvas dry, then glue them together.

Display it when it's completely dry.
