Do you love fresh ground pepper? We do and use our wood pepper grinder EVERY day. This makes for the perfect opportunity to add color to any kitchen decor. Mine is blue but I may kick it up soon. A customer went completely off grid and ordered a red and yellow set, here goes how I did the salt shaker to go with the finished red grinder I had on hand
clean your wooden piece well to get off all past oils and stickies and let dry
I went with a soft yellow from Country Chic Paint called creme brule all in one paint and to give it added age I distressed the edges a bit and added dark wax, see the top half waxed and bottom unwaxed to show how it deepens the yellow
i think it is perfect and looks fabulous with the red painted pepper grinder painted American Paint company fireworks red, distressed and dark waxed just the same way.
Doesnt this set look adorable? The customer did not want them matching in height or style for this eclectic fun mix that will grace the table in their guest ranch cabin. Go ahead, give it a try, it is just paint!
Suggested materials:
