Normally a wall is made from 2x4 studs and drywall with the electrical installed before the drywall. Are you adding a wall? Did you want to add some finish like stone or tiles to the wall? Can you use an already existing wall? I guess I am not quite sure what you are asking.
Thanks Lynn for more information! You should be able to open up your existing wall and build from there to add in the fireplace to accommodate any depth from your unit. You would also be able to redo any electric you have on that wall for your fireplace and TV when the wall is open--you would not have to open the entire wall depending on how your electrical has been run. If you are not sure how to frame it yourself you could hire a contractor. You are basically building a box to hold the fireplace. It seems that it is a very small job and would not take long. You could do some of the work yourself--like the sheet rock and taping. Good Luck on your project!
Thank you Plan on building the box floor to ceiling
