How to update kitchen wall paint?

Have you used contact paper before? My experience with it is that the surface will need to be blemish free and still the bubbles are a nightmare to get out. Maybe someone else has better application methods and will post. My guess is the seams will be ultra difficult to match as contact paper is not made for such large applications but maybe your pattern will not matter.

As for your wall, if you ever want to remove it it will most likely damage the surface if drywall.

Hello again, I've use contact on my kitchen cabinets to line the shelves. Contact paper is very hard to remove. If you want this on your walls, I'd think twice. Yes, it's washable, but it will yellow in time. You would be better off with paint.

Hang a plumb line so the first sheet is perfectly vertical. Then hang the second sheet either to the left or right of this one. DON'T take the backing off before you put it on wall - just peel about 3 or 4 inches down, set the sheet firmly against the crease between the wall and the ceiling, and smooth the paper down as you peel the backing slowing away as you move down. HINT: use a credit card to smooth out the paper (don't use too much pressure or you may tear the paper)--- Pop any bubbles with a pin and smooth over with the credit card.

Carol...don't worry if the paper yellows a bit since that will take some time and the paper can easily be removed and replaced at very little cost. I did my whole laundry room for less than $25!
