A super easy and fun DIY inspired by Mcgee & Co. new kids line! I love their new line, but it can be pricey. I recreated their “scribble” framed art for my friends baby’s nursery.

When she asked for my help to style her baby’s nursery I went online for inspo and stumbled upon the new McGee & Co kids line. She loved the simplicity of the “scribble” framed art but was not in her budget. Both her and her husband love horses and wanted to incorporate them in the nursery, so recreating one of a horse was a no brainer!

  • These are materials needed, I found the perfect frame at Goodwill for only $1.99! I had all the other materials on hand. ( my painters tape was left outside so that’s why it looks a little funky)
  • I wanted to leave some of the gold color trim around the frame so I taped that off and spray painted the rest, using my go to matte black spray paint.
  • Print out the animal or shape you’d like to use and cut it out, I used some tape to place it on the center of the water color paper so it wouldn’t move while I traced around it with a pencil.
  • Once you’re done tracing it remove your cut out and start scribbling. On a separate sheet of paper I scribbled using a fine tip sharpie, ultra fine sharpie and a pen. I liked how the ultra fine tip sharpie looked so I ended up using that one. (Remember it’s not suppose to look perfectly filled in)
  • Once you are happy with how it looks, place in back in the frame and DONE!!

The final result! I was also lucky enough to score this wooden rocking horse at Goodwill for only $4.99! So happy with how her nursery is coming together!!
