ENTRY WAY OR lack there of?!?! What to do?

You can use your furniture to define the space into sections for the effect you'd like, its all about bookshelf an couches and tables positioned to give you the entreyway feel

I would think lattice would look nice next the dining table side of the door

The other side could have large urns, vases etc. with plants to define the other side of the door.

Honestly it looks just fine the way it is. Adding extra items or rearranging will take away from the room.

You could scavenge old shutter doors for the dining or living room side. Paint them whatever color suits you. Get little hooks to hang mini planters or other decorative items from the slats.

A wide hall tree would add definition and utility without totally blocking the view. For an economical version, there are a lot of hall tree ideas on Hometalk.

The entry looks great. I would better define the other areas of the room. When that is done the entry should define itself.

I would put matching low furniture on both sides to define the space. Ikea Kalax comes to mind, but if you are looking for something less expnsive or DIY, you could try crates from craft stores or even better wine crates, which can be free if you have a favorite liquor store.

If you search on Pinterest for "room divider" you will see a lot of great ideas - short bookcases, benches, rope fasted with eyehooks to ceiling and floor board, windows, tree branches, etc. There's bound to be something there that you like!

I would take one of the couches and put the back towards the foyer with a sofa table behind it. This would allow you to have a place for mail, keys, etc., while helping to define an entryway.

Matching (or even a single) console tables (height is ideal) placed perpendicular to the door side lights could be an option. Select construction and materials that complement your decor. Can be styled with accessories for keys, mail, etc. You might also consider a large rug to define the entryway area. A coat tree and umbrella stand would be helpful as long as it doesn't become "unruly". Would love to see an "after" pic. Good luck!

I'm with Keri's suggestion, and I would add a carpet runner . The house pictures are wonderful but if they aren't of your house it is difficult to visually see what you're dealing with. Best of luck.
