I also think the easiest way to update a space is with paint. You can paint the paneled walls, add a new little rug, baskets, pillows. If you have a chair, bench or table, those can be painted also.

Hi! Use a good quality sealer after thoroughly cleaning and repairing the walls. I buy Kilz and get it tinted to the color I am going to paint to save on time and the amount of paint I will need.
