motion activated lights? I have them on my bedroom stairs and basement stairs. Less than $20/each. they stay on for just the right amount of time
There are clear Christmas lights you could string across the the entry way, there are battery operated puck lights that have adhesive backing that work well ...use them in my crafts room that’s on the other side of the garage, there are solar powered flood lights, there are trouble lights..they hold a single light bulb..mechanics use them when working on cars you would need a hook to hang them from, and a place to plug it in.
Is your front door solid? You might consider replacing the door with something that has a window in it. Even a small window will let in a surprising amount of light in the right conditions.
You could also add mirrors to reflect any light that might come in from nearby windows.
