We tiled over tile in our back splash. Worked great!
No. Tile needs a smooth and solid base. Any damage or movement of the old tile will transfer to the new tile.
I wouldn't do it. Better to start with a flat, fresh surface.
Bad idea all around. I've seen people paint tile, but I wouldn't do that either.
I am dealing with the same thing on a sunroom floor. The installer says NO.. So we are going to take up the old to cut costs before they install.
ShirleneHometalker- - DO NOT DO IT! Nothing but problems with cracks and movement. Tear out and start fresh.
Don't do it on a surface that will be subjected to any kind of pressure. For example, tile on top of tile on a floor would be a disaster!
if all is leveled you do same way as you would install tiles over plywood
