Can I put the new pebble tile over an existing old tile floor?
Does anyone have advice on how to tile over tile? I have old 2x2 ceramic tile on my bathroom shower floor and want to replace it, also 12x12 in the dressing area. The old one is in great shape no cracks or chips. ? Thanks

You can but not recommended. Plus there will be a height difference wherein you may need to have your door cut down and creates a tripping hazard.
No, I think you will have to remove it. But you could have a couple professionals come and give you an estimate. Even though you plan to do it yourself, you can ask lots of detail questions. They might say it could go over a course of leveler.
I would say not....you want to have a smooth and level surface when you put down any tile, additionally, you wouldn't want to go to the expense and work of new tile only to have it fail a short time down the road. I would say that removing the tile would be along the lines of "short term pain for long term gain"
I have done it several times...no reason it won't work. Spread your thin set down and lay the new tile. Grout as usual. It will be sealed good with the grout so it doesn't matter what your starting surface is.
If the surface is smooth, its the BEST WAY to replace your tiles, just make sure you have a uniform amount of tile cement ideally use a cement spreader
of course but make sure not to soak it in grout
