Is the entire carpet darkening or is it just a stain? If it is a stain, try oxiclean! Just dissolve some in water and spray the darker spot to clean it.
I used a steamer and just cleaning it lightened it up tremendously.
Depends what is causing it to be dark. A good cleaning with a carpet cleaner you can rent from the grocery store can work wonders

Use a Steam Cleaner or Carpet Cleaning Machine that can be hired from the Larger DIY Stores. OTHERWISE, use a carpet cleaning Company to do the job!

Hello could you give a little more information? Is the carpet being bleached from sunlight or is it a stain that’s appearing? Sometimes a photograph might show the degree of your problem and be helpful.
