Help with linoleum floors!

Glue seeping up under linoleum floors, can't replace at this time. Can I paint over to hide this ugly mark?
Help with these floors, glue came up under. I'm assuming this is what happened to my floors, only happened in hallway.

Are you sure it's glue and not a water leak coming from somewhere, or perhaps mold underneath? How recently was the linoleum installed? Did you do it yourself, or did you pay someone to do it? If it was recently installed, and you paid a professional, they need to come fix the problem, assuming it isn't a water problem.

@Bonnie it is unusual for glue to seep up through sheet vinyl but yes you can paint vinyl floors there are a lot of ideas here just put paint vinyl floors in search box up top..my concern is to make sure you seal that stain with some stain sealer like kilz first good luck and post pics after it is done xx

It looks more like mold to me. Hallway...right outside the bathroom? I see an open door on the right, but is that a closet door to the left of it? Is there a water heater in there? I've read where others have painted vinyl floors but I would not even consider it until you investigate the possibility of a leak.

Its a bathroom to the right but the floor in there is ok, probably just need to rip it up.

I agree its dampness and mold under the vinyl I see this quite often in my work. You need to do a moisture test first to see if its wet underneath. If so and your on a slab you may have a water pipe leak. Check your water meter to see if its running when all the faucets are off. If this is occurring, check with your insurance company as this should be covered by the home owner policy. This can be a difficult repair and can result in an expensive fix. What type of floor is there in the bath? Check to see if the toilet is tight to the floor. Place your leg against the toilet and slightly push sideways. If the toilet moves this may be the issue. Replace the wax ring on toilet and fasten to the floor.

it looks like water damage/mold to me as well-I would rip it up and make sure, if everything is of-paint over the concrete or stain it

I agree with the rest on a mold issue....but don't YOU tear it up! .If you CAN determine where the leak is , or even if you can't call your Homeowners Ins. co. I used a really dark glue...nearly black...it' seeps only where the tiles* come together and only a little. ( *Linoleum square's)

Bonnie,same here in one of my bathrooms after new floor was put in. I can not remember how long it was but it looks just like yours. A guy came out told me it was glue.I like you can not afford to change it right now.I would love to paint it but scared to.

If the floor is on cement slab, its moisture coming up through the cement. IF they used the proper glue for vinyl flooring which one would assume they did, its moisture and resulting mold that has developed in the backing of the vinyl. Which is a paper product.
