How do I fix squeaky hardwood floors?
Once it starts splitting, it's on its way out to being replaced. I just ripped out a bunch of it at my house and replaced with hardwood. Not much you can do.
If the seam has failed but there is no other damage you can glue the floor down again. But having a perfectly straight edge will dictate how good the end result is. Go to a home improvement store to get a glue made just for this purpose.

If it is not coming up or rolling up on the seam you can place some grout in the seam to finish it off again.
