Jim, many have said they have this problem. Look over these videos and see if you find just the one you need.

That's just what they do.
Not to sure you can, you need both intact. You might need to replace that one board, and check that the floor is level.
This is a common problem. Take a knife and run it along the edge between the two boards that are snapping, then force some glue that dries pliable into the space between the two boards.
