I need an idea for a coffee table rug/design, not carpet

I have two dogs and even with a carpet cleaner, the carpet is never really clean (it is an indoor/outdoor carpet). I thought about painting a rug on the floor, but it's a laminate floor and don't want to ruin it. Unless, I can find something that could easily remove the paint if I wanted to change it. Thanks!

I agree, but I'm afraid I'm not talented enough to do that. I'd like a design similar to the current carpet I have, but my painting skills are limited. Thank you for your response.
