We used a floating vinyl flooring from Home Depot on our basement and main floor. Works great! Just vacuum, wash the floor and lay it in.
Seal the floor with concrete sealer, in case it was not sealed. It is just a can that you roll on and let dry. Look at vinyl plank flooring instead of tile, much easier to put down, looks great, very durable, water-resistant, easy to clean and affordable. It comes in so many different colors and styles too.
Here are a few links to help you out. Pay attention to temperature, if too cold it may not set up right.

There’s so many paints and stains for concrete floors now without covering them. They’re beautiful as is. Look at these incredible homes with them in some design magazines. Super simple & stunning
So many people don't want to answer your specific question!!!! If your floor is concrete you don't need to do anything before you tile it. The products you use to lay and grout your tile will be exactly the same. All you need to do is make sure it's swept and free of lumps and bumps. Ta-da!

Nope. Muriatic acid will scuff off the shine. We've tiled over smooth concrete plenty of times and it's lasted for years.
