HI Rose. Bamboo flooring is very durable. Laminate flooring is also good.

  • I have laminate flooring in my kitchen where sliding glass doors and doggie door is located to the patio - and is the ony point of entry from the house to the back yard. Worst home purchase ever. I prefer wood or tile or one of the new vinyl products available. I would even take sheet vinyl over my laminate flooring. 6 cats, 6 dogs in this house daily.

After having lived with real wood, laminated wood and tile floors and lots of large dogs, I think the best is vinyl squares. And not the shiny stuff. No scratches, dogs don't slide, if they have an accident, it's easy to clean up - doesn't get between the cracks and lift - and you can remove one tile if it gets damaged.

Tile flooring is your best bet.
