Morning glories blooming purple?
Here is the question why are they all blooming purple ? Not very visible in this photo but no blue ones yet . One nice advantage they are blooming earlier than the blue ones usually do. (and I did have purple ones the summer before last)

Mary on Jul 24, 2014Unfortunately, Mornig glories are worse than weeds. One you plant them, you cant get rid of them and the do travel fast! Be careful!!Helpful Reply

Dorothy on Jul 25, 2014Nope.....they are an annual, prolific seed producers and seeds can survive in the soil for several years. Some varieties seem to survive in seed longer than others.Helpful Reply

Pattycake on Jul 28, 2014I have purchased blue morning glory plants and saved the seeds from the very plant. Unforunately, as many times as I have planted them, they always come up purpleHelpful Reply

Larry Lou on Jun 10, 2015We had pink, blue and purple last year. I made sure I got as many seeds possible, mixed them up and sprinkled them where I wanted more morning glories. Hoping for a mixture of all colors and maybe some new (?) Also I have NEVER fertilized mine and the vines are covered with flowers. What I've noticed for my area, is lots of watering through the summer and come Sept they cover a very ugly wall lol.Helpful Reply
