How much should I cut my knock out roses back?

I did not cut them back in the Fall like I usually do. Normally I cut them back I/3 in the Fall and then 1/3 in the Spring
HOSTAS CAN BE CUT BACK NOW. ROSES NEED TO HAVE THEIR EXTRA LONG STEMS TRIMMED BUT WAIT UNTIL SPRING TO SHAPE THE BUSH AND REMOVE ANY CROSSOVER BRANCHES IN THE CENTER.
Hi. I agree with Joy. Happy Gardening!
Yes on roses, no to Hostas. Mother nature does the rest.
Cutting back Hostas is up to the person. Some do, some don't. I have only cut mine back once and they came back just as nice as when I leave them and clean it up in the spring. If you do cut them back, it won't hurt to cover them with leaves or something until they start popping up in the spring. It just adds a little protection for them. I don't have knock out roses, I don't get enough sun to have them.
Winter care may depend on your planting zones -weather conditions.
I am in zone seven and I leave my roses as is.
In general, you will be pruning just before the plant breaks dormancy after spring's final frost. This will be early in the year in warm climates, and anytime between January and April in cold climates.

Personally-I would remove the hosta leaves as they discolor and die back.
Thank you all so much. Very helpful!
