Good luck!
Here is a link for you. My guess is maybe too wet? Here is my reason why. My next door neighbor has a bed of them and they bloom beautifully. And are totally neglected - long story - the guy that lives there now - son of the owner, waters at random times, never fertilized or tended to in any way shape or form. Their lazy gardener will weed wack them down every once in a blue moon - thats it. And they thrive . . . And are in full, hot 100°+ single digit humidity heat all summer.

It most likely needs dividing.Do so when your season breaks into fall and or cooler temperatures.
They like their roots to be somewhat crowded so be careful not to divide till outgrow boundaries. They don't like a lot of water after the first growing season. Maybe overwatered. They like being a bit neglected. Try that. Hope this helps.
Sounds like it needs some dividing :) best of luck!
