How deep do pumpkin roots grow?

Pumpkin roots will get most of their water from the upper two feet. But they probably go at least 4ft deep and maybe deeperHelpful Reply -

As deep as they want to😄 Or as deep as your soil allows. They do have quite a wide spread which makes them more successful in the ground rather than a pot.Helpful Reply -

My grandson brought a pumpkin plant home from kindergarten.....we planted it in our side yard.....grew about 10 feet by 25 feet and produced about 5 pumpkins. He and his uncle had fun making jack-o-lanterns that year. But a caution....it did kill the grass under the plant with all that growth. When the plant was done, we just pulled it up and threw it in the garbage....roots did not grow again.Helpful Reply -
