Claude on May 03, 2017As deep as they want to😄 Or as deep as your soil allows. They do have quite a wide spread which makes them more successful in the ground rather than a pot.Helpful Reply
Pat on May 03, 2017My grandson brought a pumpkin plant home from kindergarten.....we planted it in our side yard.....grew about 10 feet by 25 feet and produced about 5 pumpkins. He and his uncle had fun making jack-o-lanterns that year. But a caution....it did kill the grass under the plant with all that growth. When the plant was done, we just pulled it up and threw it in the garbage....roots did not grow again.Helpful Reply
