How many sweet potatoes will one slip produce?

    depends on the variety -- but 2-3 is about average -- depending on soil condition, moisture, etc.

    Well the deer ate most of our plants but 3 remained and we got almost 2 five-gallon buckets full! We thought you had to wait until the leaves died back to dig the plants. Wrong! They were too big, should have just dug around the plant in late September. Remember to save a few little ones to make slips for next year. Pot them up when they start sprouting in the spring then plant outdoors en early summer.

    It really depends a lot on the growing season and variety, but in general, I get between 3-5 really large sized sweet potatoes from each slip
