It's Clerodendrum splendens. Yes, it grows outdoors in full to part sun. Here is a picture of it at http://www.calflora.net/floraofbermuda/clerodendrum_splendens.html. Hope that helps!

First you need to check your zone. This is definitely a fuchsia.

Fuchsia. They grow outdoors here in Washington state. They are a popular flower to give on Mother's Day.

It's not Fuchsia. I have both Fuschia and the Clerodendrum splendens. It's the latter. Have it in the ground and in full SoCal sun—have had no issues with it. It vines.
