What kind of tree is this? And what's wrong with it?

Help please I planted this tree two years ago. It has gotten taller, but the leaves turn yellow and fall off. It gets watered, but maybe I'm watering it to much. I don't know how to take care of it because I can't remember what its called or what it needs. I'm in zone 8.
What is this please?
Why? Its in part shade to couple hours of sun, Dry soil, but good soil.

My first thought was an ash, but ash trees have opposite branching in addition to opposite leaves, and that does not appear to be the case from your photos. A couple of hours a day of sun is not much for most trees.
