Can i plant sweet potatoes and white potatoes in the same container?

White potatoes need to be hilled up as they grow, covering the merging stem, and can also be planted earlier than sweet potatoes. sweet potatoes do not require hilling as they grow.

I would use separate containers for them. Plastic garbage cans work really well for white potatoes, you can easily hill the potatoes. Just put drainage holes in the bottom.
