The pre coffee pot grinds are used for acid loving plants. An expensive nutrient.

Yes, Coffee grounds are highly acidic, they are great for acid-loving plants like azaleas and blueberries. If your soil is already high in nitrogen, the extra boost from coffee grounds could stunt the growth of fruits and flowers.
I have been adding coffee grounds to mine for about a year. They are doing great and bloomed from March to October. They are Encore azaleas.
