Water your shrubs twice a week in the hot weather, annuals at least every other day and the lawn depending on the heat. In Texas, where I live, lawns go brown no matter how often you water them which is very dissappointing but without rain it is unavoidable. You can usually tell whether your plants need water by the way they look. If they are beginning to droop or the leaves are turning yellow or brown then you know it is time to water. Also, you obviously have to consider the expense as water is very expensive these days.

Three inches every third day for the garden. Three to six inches once a week for your lawn. Hope this helps. ☺️

  • All depends on where you live and how much rain you receive - or not. Where I live we have not had any rainfall since March or April. And that was 10 minutes here and there, not a proper rain like other parts of the country. My area is on restricted watering (although I cheat a bit), and I can only water on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When it is 100°+ not so great. So I drown the heck out of everything so they can last. I hand water all the potted plants daily. Here are some guides, hope they help!
