My sweet potato plant that’s in my planter on my front porch has produced sweet potatoes! I was just wondering if you can really eat them? Thanks!

Hi, I don't see why not
Absolutely! I have 2 huge planters going myself. As long as you did not use any harmful chemicals (Round Up type products), on or around them you are free to enjoy nature's bounty.
No problem. Leave them to dry out for a few weeks before cooking!
You can grow regular potatoes this way. There is a special pot made to grow potatoes that one can lift out the whole inside, pick the potatoes and drop the rest back in the planter for the babies to grow
How marvellous to have been able to grow fresh food so close to your own kitchen! From the picture, there is nothing wrong with this potato. Nowadays, many vegetables in grocery stores look uniform in colour and size largely because of bioengineering (GMO) where the 'imperfect' ones are thrown out. Not too many years ago, produce looked liked your real potato.
Yes, as long as you did not spray anything on the plants.
The are Sweet Potatoes. You can eat them immediately. Anyone who has had a garden knows this. Happy eating.
